Dr. Hassanein is a graduate of the University of Cairo School of Medicine. He completed a residency in Dermatology and a PhD program in the immunohistochemistry of adnexal skin neoplasms. He completed residencies in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and fellowship training in Dermatopathology at Hahnemann University School of Medicine and a fellowship in Mohs skin surgery at the Center for Dermatology and Skin Surgery in Tampa.

Dr. Hassanein is board certified in Dermatology by the American Board of Physician Specialties.

He is also board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and board certified in dermatopathology by the American Boards of Pathology and Dermatology.

He served as clinical associate professor of Pathology and Dermatology at the University of Florida College of Medicine and was the founder, chief and program director of the dermatopathology fellowship training program.


He has published extensively in Dermatology and Dermatopathology and is currently the Medical Director of Florida Pathology and Florida Dermatologic Surgery and Aesthetics Institute in the Villages and Clermont, Florida.
